Inulin, a fructooligosaccharide (FOS), is a soluble prebiotic fiber that is resistant to digestion and reaches the colon unchanged. Intestinal probiotic bacteria consume inulin and in turn produce short-chain fatty acids, which nourish colon cells. Inulin thus helps maintain gut health and function. Inulin has a pleasant taste that gives a mild sweetness to food and drinks, but has a very low glycemic index and does not adversely affect serum glucose levels.
SUGGESTED USAGE
Recommendation for use: Take 1 small spoon, 1 to 3 times a day. Mix it into your favorite drink or food. Start with 1 teaspoon per day and gradually increase the dose to avoid gastrointestinal discomfort.
